The San Diego Veterans Day Parade Program for 2008 was a 12-page spread that honored the Korean War Veterans. When I was asked to help out, I was honored because as my father was a Korean War Veteran.

The Details
Initially the original designer on the Program asked me for suggestions on what I thought the cover should look like. With their initial concept in hand, I decided to do some research. I happened to be going through some of my old picture from a trip to DC I did a few years earlier…and caught a glimpse of the Korean War Memorial. In that moment I knew what the cover needed to be…. in a few short hours I had this design. Needless to say, the approved it. This project turned out to be my largest printed project to date.
And for 2009 I have been invited back to come up with a design for the new theme, Welcome Home Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) Veterans. I just came up with the inital cover design last week. This year the crowds are expected to be even larger than last year. Once the Program goes to print I will be happy to share it here.
